We have taken every opportunity to control the cost of attending this conference for students and postdocs. We believe that it is important to give these early stage scientists the opportunity to participate in focused workshops and meetings. However, with the rapidly growing cost of conference attendance, this is quickly becoming unaffordable for many research groups.

Therefore, we encourage conference organizers to join with us to control the cost of conference attendence by choosing venues that offer cost effective lodging, low cost alternatives for meals, and setting reasonable fees for registration. In this workshop, the costs of the afternoon wine and cheese receptions, the daily refreshments brought to the conference rooms, and the conference dinner have been generously donated by corporate sponsors.
